Yes, my friends, it is that time of year again. We all make New Year's Resolutions so that we can put pressure on ourselves to fail. I have decided not to call mine resolutions. Instead I am going to call them a lifetime commitment. Maybe if I change the name, I will actually stick to them this time!
My first commitment is to get healthy. This includes eating healthy, lose weight, exercise more. I'm sure you've heard our son is getting married in October, so that is definitely a big reason to get in shape. Who wants to look at those wedding pictures years from now and have someone say "Who is that short fat woman?" Not me! I want them to say "WOW, who is that hot momma?" LOL!
Second commitment is to get organized. I have a lot of organizing to do too. My life, my house, my desk, my mind.....The first thing I'm going to do is clean things out! I will finally get closets and drawers cleaned out. I'm going to toss things that should have been tossed YEARS ago!!
The third is to spend more time with family and friends. I try to go see my mom every other day. She is in a nursing home and I know she can't stand being in there, but she doesn't have a choice and she knows that too. So if we go see her at least four to five times a week then I know that makes her feel a little better. I need to spend more time with my dad too. I don't go see him nearly as much as I should, so I plan on spending more time with him.
The list could go on and on, but for now I will concentrate on these three things. As I become more organized and healthy, I will add more commitments. That way, maybe, just maybe, I will stick to them.
